Genius and Matalan Celebrate Major Win for Outstanding Candidate Experience

Award recognises the exceptional user journey of Matalan’s new careers website

The careers website of retail giants Matalan took centre stage at the 2024 OnRec Awards last night, as Genius proudly took home the Best Online Candidate Experience Award for our work on the platform.

This is a huge milestone for both Genius and Matalan, and a real testament to what can be achieved when agency and client work together on such a critical project in perfect harmony. Our goal at Genius is simple: to create exceptional candidate experiences that make the recruitment process smoother, smarter and more engaging for everyone. We are especially proud to win this particular award because it shows that we’re delivering on that promise.

The Matalan careers website was designed with candidates at its heart—making it intuitive, engaging and packed with useful information. We’re proud that our collaboration with Matalan has resulted in an online experience that truly stands out, bringing to life the retailer’s fresh, new Employer Brand. It’s not just about filling vacancies; it’s about creating a platform where candidates feel valued from the very start of their journey.

An added bonus is that Matalan also chose Genius to provide their Applicant Tracking System (ATS), meaning the two systems work together seamlessly. As a result, job listings are displayed beautifully, and the application process is quick and intuitive. It’s a perfect example of how integrated technology can enhance the candidate journey from start to finish.

At Genius, we believe that great candidate experience can transform recruitment, and this award proves that we’re on the right track. We’re excited to continue pushing boundaries, working closely with our clients to create digital experiences that are as innovative as they are effective.

A huge thank you to Matalan for trusting us with their vision, and to everyone involved in making this project a success. We’re just getting started—here’s to even more exciting collaborations in the future!
